All your battery cables need to conform to the IVA rule book.

Individual Vehicle Approval (IVA) Manual for Vehicle Category M1 Page 273  General construction.

"All electrical cables/wires must be free from chafing and secured at intervals of at least every 300mm unless contained in a secure hollow component"

Conduit is optional and not compulsory. If you install conduit make sure it is secured at intervals.
They will look for loose or unsecure cables.

Hi all,

I'm starting to work my way through the car checking and finishing off the last bits in readiness for the IVA. One question I have is regarding the big cables from the battery and conduit.  For some reason I installed these without conduit despite running all other cables through appropriate conduit.  I have no idea why I did this but assume they should also run through comduit for IVA?
