Biggest bang for bucks is as Tony says go for 383 stroker. All round performance gain with more low torque.
Also you might need to look if your gearbox spec to see if it can take the extra torque. All comes down to budget.

This guy Golds garage knows it stuff.

The carburretor has already been upgraded to a 4 pot Holly

I dont know what Cam is in there, but most of torque is down low

Have thought Cams, injection, and already tried easy bits as fuel and filter upgrades

Wonder if primary poster got anywhere with this?

Have been told you need to start at around £5k for any meaningful gain (Too old to do it myself) which I thought a lot for just that bit extra?
Different engine I know, the rv8 for my Southern Roadcraft uses a fast road 272 Piper cam with Rhoads hydraulic lifters, Holley carb and a nothing special electronic ignition system .
In my opinion it sounds as it should, has reasonable manners at low rpm's and is quit capable of getting you a speeding ticket in the mid range band .
It suits my purpose so I am happy.
My take on this would be don't go too wild on the cam for most of our normalish driving on public roads, for track, obviously a totally different ball game .
The 350 ci you have, I would have thought should be giving you 350 BHP at the flywheel without going too mad with silly cams etc and deliver the correct sound ?

Stroker kit? if you look on Summit Race for inspiration they sell lots of kits to turn a standard 350 to a 383.

Hi guys
I want your advice, I've got a 1974 Chevy 350 small block with a eldbrook 8867 carb with a Torker 2 head.. unsure what the cam is?  In the autumn I want to replace all the seals of the engine and gaskets. But also thinking of a performance upgrades what are the options, new cam? New manfold head? New carb. What's important to me is the sound and mid range what's your thoughts guys??
