Front Lower Ball Joint

Sorry for being late to this thread. As stated previously the MK3/4/5 Cortina/MK1 Granada has double wishbone suspension. The ball joints (like this: Link) come with the necessary bolts. If yours have never been replaced they'll be riveted in, you'll have to drill/cut them out.

Worth replacing the rubber bush too while you have the arm off.

I don't know of any Cobras that would use strut front suspension but would add that Jon has given you
some good information to work with with regards to the parts that you require .

Mk1 and MkII Sumos used the McPhearson strut I believe.

OP: If you post some pics of your set-up then there are people on here who will be able to respond.
Please also show side view of car, cockpit and engine bay - that helps determine exact variant being discussed.

Unfortunately not, Sierra's and Cortinas use Mcferson Strut front suspension. Cobra replicas use coil overs with wishbones

I don't know of any Cobras that would use strut front suspension but would add that Jon has given you
some good information to work with with regards to the parts that you require .

They used QUINTON HAZELL part no  QSJ663S

Thread Size, M14x1.5 . If you have the original nut I would measure with a Vernier if the nut is full height or half height M14 X 1.5 nut. You need steel grade 8 plus. All replacement ball joints come with a nut.

Early Pilgrims used Cortina parts and the later ones were based on Sierra components, mate of mine
built a late 90's version that was mainly Sierra parts .
If that's in your ball park you will find the torque settings in something like a Hains manual although nut
sizes won't be listed .
You will probably find these in a proper workshop manual or someone with a good memory on these
parts, sorry my memory doesn't serve me well enough !
They also did use Granada parts on later models .

Its a Pilgrim Sumo, Pilgrim themselves do not distinguish which Mk, they just list a lower Ball Joint
