Merry Christmas everyone! This will be my second Christmas without my parents, and the first without my dog, Sparky. I'll miss seeing his head halfway in his stocking sniffing out Christmas treats. Missing one's parents is all too familiar for way too many of us.

On a happier note, I'll be spending time with my son and his family, his three boys being 10, 7 and 2.5. I have good presents for all of them. As one gets older, what you give becomes more important than what you might receive. I enjoy watching them open the gifts I have for them

I'm also looking forward to having a drink as the doctor told me I should stop due to having a fatty liver. I intend to make an exception over Christmas (she did say once a month probably wouldn't hurt anyway). I did buy a can of rhubarb flavoured apple cider for a treat on Christmas Eve, plus there's rum around. No G&T though.... I had to draw the line somewhere.....  sniff, sniff.

I'm also glad to be back on this forum. A good bunch of guys here.
