I was lucky enough to visit there factory in Harlow and meet Kris Brown to look at there package and take a ride in there blue Chevy with auto box demonstrator. He told me all about the development work on the car and its chassis. The attention to detail was impressive and I always look at the UA Python as a premium product.
They had a 1000bhp car arrive on the day with a Donavan engine I think over 10 litres which later I saw at Goodwood on a U.K.CRC track day. They were going for some track record time but unfortunatley the car to a serious crash . The driver some how was thrown from the car and there was a serious fire. He ended up with a just a broken ankle and concussion. The story goes that he had hit the quick release harness on impact into the barriers.
The car arrived at the pits in a damaged fire state. A thing you never want to see or encounter yourself.
The aluminium wheels had almost melted in the intense heat.

Unique Autocraft Cars were built in very small numbers in Harlow in Essex between 1981 and 1993, in total only around 99 were made. The only model made was a replica of the AC Cobra, the chassis was made of steel with a 92 inch wheelbase onto which an open two seater body was mounted, the model was known as The Python. The suspension came from Jaguar and they were built with a variety of V6 or V8 engines depending on customer preference.
