thanks i think i will go with a Facet as the carter has had some bad reviews, dont seem to be making them like they used to

They still make the Carter P4070 if you wanted a straight swap. If its been running for years. I have a boot mount red top Facet which has been reliable and used with a Malpassi Filter King regulator mounted in the engine bay.
A lot of pumps are pushers and not pullers so if they run dry without fuel will fail.

I assume it is an electric pump.?
I think most would go with Facet and then match the flow rate and pressure to your engine requirement.
