Having worked in both the motor industry and the trade it was always good talk down the pub with
regards to what your car could do, nothing wrong with that in my opinion only that it wasn't really good
practice to put things to the test on public roads but I'm sure most of us have had ago .
My point is that almost all car manufactures use to publish the performance of most vehicles, nothing wrong with
that, you still had to abide by the max speed limits, nation speed limit of 70 & 60 mph has always been the
case since I started driving in 1979 .
Things then started to change at the turn of the century with regards to Fords advertising, they stopped mentioning top speeds and 0 - 60 figures, it was demonised and only mpg, led lights, trim levels etc should be
mentioned due to government pressure. To mention the performance of a Cossy was now uncool !
If your in the market for an " elecy" vehicle, tesla and most other vehicle manufactures, the performance specs
are back !!
How cool is that, the only difference is you can accelerate to 60 in two seconds and potentially kill someone
in near silence .
I suppose I'm a dinosaur but I don't get it .
Chris.
