Understood.
Much appreciated mate

Quote from: RussHowell on Jun 03, 2024, 07:04 AMHi Craig,

The TKX does not make use of the reverse lockout.
Think the only connections used on the TKX are the Reverse Light on the passenger side of the gearbox and the speedo on the right side.

Dave suggested to me to simply cut the unused legs short.
I think I have two legs that I have coiled up, until I am completely happy. One is the reverse lockout, but not sure what the other one is, until i check later,

Thanks for that.
May I ask do you have a T56 variant such as 6060/Magnum or a TKX like me?

I agree with Paul that a quick call or email to Dave will help solve this for you.

I have the Canems Sequential ECU with the wiring harness, which did included the reverse lock out connection and associated wiring and does work.

Hi Paul
Thank you so much for your detailed response. Yes, you are correct I do have the new aluminium housed ECU and am fairly confident I will have no issues with the Flight electronic speedo connection.

I have tried to call Dave at Canems, but I get the impression that he may be somewhat overwhelmed with work, so he only deals with enquiries by email, to the degree he even appears to have removed the phone number from his website. I I was given his number, but when I called the answerphone message it said pretty much the same thing. I did drop him an email but got his Out of Office Assistant saying he was away on holiday. Hopefully he will answer upon his return,
Many thanks
Craig

I would suggest you give Dave at Canems a call to see if your ECU has the facility and if not what can be done to get it. He is very helpful and a good reason to choose Canems over the competition.

I Assume you have the new Aluminum housed ECU whereas I have the old Canems ECU (Black metal box) that I bought via AK - Unfortunately at the time (2020) Jon didn't specify to Dave at Canems to include the facility to disengage the lock out solenoid. When I spoke to Dave about it he said he would need the ECU back for a slight modification to get it to work. It then needs the speedo connection from the gearbox to register the speed (i.e to work only when you are stationary or going extremely slowly) and the connections from the solenoid to connect to the ECU. Sadly the Smiths Classic speedo didn't work in tandem with the ECU taking the feed so I had to fit the pulse speedo sensor to get it to work (I am not sure if this is the same for the Flight type gauge but if you are at Chassis stage I would fit a pulse sensor now so if you do need it it will save a hell of a lot of issues when you try to get the speedo to work).

I have the Magnum box and bought it with the speedo mechanical blacking plug and 'pigtail' wiring connectors for the electronic speedo and lockout solenoid.

All works very well which is very useful since the Magnum 6 speed has reverse at top right in the gate.

Hi Gents
I have a Tremec TKX 5 Speed transmission with a Canems E38 Gen 4 LS ECU
Have any of you connected the Canems harness to the Tremec reverse lockout solenoid (if that is what's it called)?
If so, what connectors did you use?
And more importantly - does it work?
Thanks
Craig
