If you'd like the larger dia and can't find anyone who can bend the tube to suit, give Josh at JP Cages (https://www.jp-cages.co.uk/contact/) a shout - I am reasonably sure he can probably bend 2" DOM on 12" centres (which is the standard width IIRC).

I haven't used him but he comes highly recommended - it'll probably be roll cage rated tube, as well.

There was a guy on eBay selling them (in the US), but he doesn't seem to be there now sadly (he had quite a lot of neat Cobra bits under "haneshotrodsandantiques")

Easiest solution might be to go with the standard diameter and make some slightly oversize custom escutcheon plates, if needed.

Assuming you have some spigots in place already for the current roll bar, the standard diameter might fit inside the current stubs, if you're lucky? That sorts out half the problem.

Had a measure up of the stainless steel double loop that I currently have and comes up at 2.5" / 65mm o d .
Can't seem to find any single loops that size at present, may have to get then custom made if I go with the
same size and that could be an issue due to a tighter bend that would be required for the single loops ?
May have to think about reducing the o d size a bit to be able to carry out the required work, although I do
prefer the larger size tubing but may not be possible.

I spotted it was in the southern roadcraft section after I had posted.
I picked it up from the 'latest post' at the bottom of the page at first and didn't look beyond that.
Cheers
Apologies excepted,

Thanks to everyone for their input and it appears feasible to carry out this work without to much expense,
just a bit of awkward, time and patience will be the order of the day !
As mentioned before I did have the option of having extra bracketry fitted in the first place for an extra
few quid from SR .
You live and learn .

Quote from: gd427man on Jul 31, 2023, 01:12 PMWhat kit are you building?
I fitted my single double width roll bar with the body on and made a stabalising frame inside the boot from big schaffold bar and key klamp fittings. They were such a tight fit on the roll bar that they had to be filed out to the correct dia.
Nice and strong when finished though.
No welding involed.
Made a jig / template before cutting the body.
My cob is an early 90's Southern  Roadcraft that I build over twenty years ago with the slightly oversized
double loop and was looking at changing it for twin or single loops at some point.
Thanks for you input.
Chris.

You should also look at filling the roll bar with foam before fitting them, to deaden the ringing , which can happen more on some kits than others.
Been spoke of many times on the forums over time.
Cheers.

I fitted twin hoops on my Sumo many years ago with body shell in place.
I had to make up some spigots welded to baseplates, and then had to drill the chassis behind the seats, inside the boot to fit them. The hard part was then drilling the grp body directly above it. Escutcheon plates were very handy for hiding the imperfect holes.

Err...I would most likely make my own mount.  It would need to be fairly precise, therefore I would at least want to be making and spot-welding the new part, either welding it in myself or getting a pro to do it if preferred.
Thanks for your input on this,
was thinking that one of the other kit manufacturers may have something that could be adapted
to suit or if any the drawings/dimensions are still out there ?
I would be happy to weld up bracket but would have to practice a bit to get back to fish scales and
not chicken s__t so would sort someone with the appropriate skills if that's possible .
At my work place I was spoiled with all the appropriate equipment with second to none welders that
would throw me out and "do the job properly "
Don't have that luxury anymore Unfortunatly !

Would anyone know if there is a weld in or bolt in bracket available for the roll over bar,
that being the one that is located near the diff .
There used to be one that could have been welded in place for twin or single hoops from
Southern Roadcraft many years ago had, this was as an option that I didn't take up at the time
and was  just a few quid extra .
On reflection I should have had it done so as to give me options, the weight saving is on reflection
insufficient .
I currently have the twin hoop which is a bit thicker than most, which in my option looks a bit better
than some of the skinnier versions .
I know it would be a bit of a pain to fit due to the body shell being in place but does AK etc etc have
these type of brackets or would it be best to just make one ?
Thanks in advance  for any info ,
Chris.
