I had to shape mine on my AK, I had to shape them to fit in the valley, and both sides are different, took me a while to gently shape them, but they fit a treat. I would post a few photos, but its way to much of a pain in the butt to try and shrink them down to size that is allowed. I need to find a simple bit of software or webb site that doesn't charge to shrink the photo size down. You cannot view this attachment.

Hi, when I fitted mine, I (very gently) tapped them into a saucer-ish shape so they fitted the profile of the deck. It didn't take very much shaping and when I screwed them in properly they dropped nice and snug onto the deck profile.

This could/should be a link to a couple of pics!

I would think it depends on your fitting position mate.

When i fitted the roll hoops to my ak i made my escutcheons but had to elongate the hole slightly as the bar was in the valley of the rear scuttle tub and wing and thus curved the escutcheon slightly so i needed to file it out a tad.

Hope that makes sense..... it does/did to me ;D
