Ended up replacing the fuel tank. (Good advice Jon1D) Ordered one from JK cars (DAX) and unfortunately the off the shelf item didn't fit.

Mine must be a 2013 build bespoke tank.

John at JK Cars was extremely helpful, and upon me returning the new tank that didn't fit, promptly welded a new tank to my measurements and couriered to me at no extra cost.
Great service, and my thanks to him.

New one is now fitted, and working thankfully. Think the coilovers need to be raised, as parts of the tank seem very low.

Just get a new fuel tank don't mess about with repairing it. My two main reasons are if it failed what are the rest of the welds like and don't mess with welding a used tank.

I have what appears to be a cracked seam on my fuel tank.

Tried to seal with petro putty a few months back, and it seemed to work. It's now started leaking again, so it's a proper repair or replace.

Is it worth a repair- would expect a bit dangerous to weld, unless someone knows a specialist in Sussex area?

Was also thinking of having a go at removing and replacing with new fuel tank myself, but on consideration think it's best to get a specialist/ professional to do the job.

Any suggestions appreciated on which way to go, and anyone that could do it.
