Couple of photos as requested of the inside of my tonneau cover.
It is not lined, to keep the weight down.
this makes it easy to fold up and store, dosnt take up much room in either the boot or behind the seats.

The tonneau looks good, do you have any photos showing the underside and construction?

I need to get one and fancy having a go at making one

Thanks

Roger
Sure no problem I will take a couple photos for you. I did not bother putting a liner on it, as it makes it a bit heavy like a soft top. This is light weight, water proof and simple to fold up and store as a small item, it can be stored behind the seats or in the boot.

The AK soft top is factory fit only.

Hence I went my own way, and just used the one set of studs in the body, for my soft top and tonneua cover.
Thats what i understood . And why i asked  .. Thanks  john.

Quote from: Mike Hamblin on Feb 11, 2023, 02:20 PMNice weather for a change, so I spent a few hours in the garage and completed my Tonneua cover fitting.
It uses the same row of Tenex studs as my soft top. No need for a second row of studs sticking out of the body work.
By removing the S/S screws from my screen vents and screen side trims and replacing them with Tenex studs
No extra studs or holes required in the dash.

Is your soft top from AK ??  pukka job you are doing m8 ...

Tonneau cover made and fitting to progress over the weekend.
Just needs the tenex nuts fitting while I stretch it out to the correct shape.
Well impressed with the way it fits over the roll bars with velcro flaps

This means the Tonneua cover and soft top, both use the same row of Tenex studs.
No second row of studs required.

Having made and fitted my soft top, it is now time to make and fit a Tonneua cover.

Step 1 making my template. I used wall paper backing backing paper to make my template.
Totally flexible and if I make a mistake I just add a bit in an re stick with masking tape.

The idea is to use to the same Tenex studs as my soft top, why wouldn't you, unlike some that end up with an extra row of studs in the body work front and back. ( Car ends up like a porcupine )

For the front, I removed the screws that held the windscreen demist vents in place and fitted long Tenex studs
I remove the screws from the wind screen execution plate which just about gives me enough studs at the front without drilling any extra holes.

I'm using my soft top Tenex studs from my soft top rear.
I made my template to go over my roll bars and uses the same rear studs.

That's the template complete, and ready to go to my trimmer to make it from a shower proof material which is not to heavy. Everflex material is one option. There are loads of products to pick from, I'm going for something fairly light but cost effective.

I will post an update once my trimmer has roughed it out for me.

Center zip, so that I can use half of it if required.
