Hi Chris,
I remember seeing the Souhern Roadcraft brochures for both the SRV8 and SRV12. I have my SRV8 build manual somewhere in my "archives" along with all my old build receipts. :o One of my worries would have been getting things like the correct looking lights etc if I had jumped to buy it. A lot of money would need to be spent to make it look right but isnt that the way of our modern kit cars nowadays unfortunately. :'(
I think all the owners of our cobras and "specials" like that Daytona replica have been privileged to have owned a small part of our motoring history

I have seen one of these in the flesh, it was Daytona yellow as you would expect and in a rolling chassis state.
This was in the original shell garage workshop in Brighton, at the time when I was in the process of purchasing
my SRv8 that I still own .
As for numbers  that were made, I'm not sure, my thoughts that only a few were built, not even going in to the
hundreds ?
My thoughts that there were issues with Ferrari paying a visit to the aformentioned garage which effectivly put
pay to the SRv12 Daytona .
I did give it a look due to the fact these had a proper roof and would be a bit more practical to use, this is what
was mentioned to my wife, so if wife said no to the Cobra, this would have been a good option in my opinion .
As for the build quality, it didn't seem bad, certainly no worse than Ferrari at this time, that being the early 90's.
I will say this, having worked  on earlier Ferrari electrical issues, you tend to see a lot of ugly gremlins under the skin !
From recollection I thing you could source genuine Ferrari bits like the rear lamps etc that would fit quite well
on to the GRP shell, haven't a clue who produced it, was it Southern Roadcraft or Pilgrim ?
Food for though on this one, let me know if you find out anyting else on this beast .
Chris.

Was having one of my wee visits to the site and noticed that there had been no posts in the Southern Roadcraft section since 2023 which puts us in last place. As we are the best Cobra out there by miles I thought I better bump us up a bit.
Anyway I spotted an unbuilt body/chassis of the SRV12( Ferrari Daytona replica) a while back on ebay. Something I  have never seen in the flesh but always thought it was a pretty looking car. It sold for only £2.5K but as it was it came with V12 Jag engines and boxes if I remember right and few other things. Was tempted but I have enough in the stable that needs attention.
Then recently an actual built one has appeared that had the V12 removed after damage and a Straight six put in but not back up and running / recommissioned.
Just very interesting to see a couple of cars that certainly dont come up very often appearing out of the blue. Couldn't have been very many of them sold.
Merry Christmas to all.
John.
