Title: Throttle pedal travel
Post by: johnnyoz on Nov 08, 2024, 03:48 PM
Hi,I have a RAM with a holley carb.Has anybody modified the Marina throttle pedal operation to give a shorter travel? At the moment full throttle is right to the bulkhead and is an uncomfortable stretch.

You may be able to get different cams on the carb to suit, or bend the peddle.  There are two bolts holding the peddle to the box, might be a bit of a squeeze though.

Thanks for the reply.I have shortened the carb lever and changed the travel a bit.I think that really I need to change the leverage ratio at the pedal.I made a jig to test possible ratios, but that means lengthening the top of the pedal where the cable fits. That means that I will need to drill a new hole for the cable entry into the bulkhead. As you say,the pedal is hard to get to.I was hoping that somebody had thought of a clever idea to make things easier.I may have to remove the drivers seat.....
