Was travelling probably 12-15mph in a small village in Sussex
Hadnt driven that particular route in a while, road markings worn away, didnt see a speed hump
Went straight over it and bottomed out with a clunk
I have about a 4 inch split in the fibre glass, just above the lower vent
Anyone know the approx cost of repair? and even better anyone around Burgess Hill/ Brighton area that could do a repair?
The only good thing is that the damage is out of sight, as the registration obscures the view when standing, looking at front end.
Bad thing is, am worried that the split will get worse.
I have thought about epoxy weld the 4 inch split, clamp together, and then clean area up and paint the small area myself (Have a bit of experience, but still just a DIYer really)
Any advice appreciated

Easiest DIY fix would be to remove number plate etc, clean area and degrease, both on painted surface and on grp surface behind the slit. Mask up everywhere around it and apply 3 layers of medium strand matt stippled in from the back surface using resin using an old 1" paint brush. 3 off 6" x 2" pieces should be enough. An Isopon repair kit should be fine.
Alternatively I have loads of spare matt if you want some, gratis. If you want some resin I can probably spare that as well.
If you want it repaired professionally (check your insurance excess), then I am sure the paint shop at Pilgrim Motorsport in Henfield will be able to oblige.

This must be such a common problem to Cobra owners due to speed humps. Similar thing happened to me but fortunately saw it late, braked and just caused some paint scraping. Knowing it would annoy me every time I was under the car but also knowing it was likely to happen again I've made an aluminium plate to rivet on to hide the damage and hopefully spread the load for the next time. I can replace it when it gets worn due to future inattention/more speed humps. It can't be seen so realised there really wasn't any point in making good the paint damage. You need to repair the fracture as Kev suggested but I wouldn't worry about the external finish because it will happen again.

Wasnt sure of the Blue, so went for Jaguar Blue Fire or something. Close enough match.
The repair cant be seen, so its just a matter of whether it will hold
Also fitted some bump pads underneath, if they make any difference we'll see
Thanks for advice- and watch those speed bumps........... and potholes ............ especially in dusk/dakness. Will be driving everywhere at 10mph at this rate. LOL.
