Just bought an AK Cobra
Seats didn't have headrests so I ordered some new ones via Intatrim in Telford
Just been up there to have them installed
Nice guys but
1. The headrests won't stay in place, they just fall down all the time, and the arms are too long, so they are more neckrests than headrests so no good in a rear shunt (which is why we bought these seats)
2. The seats dont fit, so they are squidged in, and as a result, they are slightly angled inwards, look ridiculous and they are going to tear soon, with the forces on them
I expected the guys to sort these issues out but now I am forced to go into a legal battle with them. They insist the headrests are ok (despite them seeing them not working at their factory) because they have used this system on 4 others, which worked fine. They also say the fitting comment is irrelevant because they have a disclaimer on their website telling buyers they have to measure and check first (which i can't find on their website)
Abysmal attitude and poor poor service. Has anyone else been shocked by them?
Can anyone recommend someone else to go to for this and other work? Pref south!!

I am surprised to hear the issues as all I have heard was good reports about them.
Regarding the seat position. I bought some new seats for my Dax from another supplier Ash in Nottingham and I knew from the measurements that it was going to be a tight squeeze especially on the drivers side with a Jag handbrake.
I must of had the seat in and out with the mounts I made about a dozen times before I was happy with the position.
I have notice on some other vehicles the seats were angles dur to the transmission tunnel. I put in a swivel bracket with side adjustments and when finally happy tightened them all in place.
I am really happy with the metal frame seats over fibreglass bucket seats. I went with heater seat pads options.
The head rests fit into tubes into the steel frame when ordering and tightened . I am not sure on your design with Intatrim.

Bit of a coincidence, I have been looking at seat options with head rest for my AK. I was going to take my current seats to Intatrim to compare sizes etc, But never managed to get time to go do it.
You could also speak to TFI trimmers in Exeter.
I used a chap called Andy Smith for my soft top and tonneau cover smiffysupholstery@gmail.com Which is just of the Tiverton junction of the M5 just up past Mole valley. He might be worth having a chat with.
I have also found something similar on the dreaded flea bay. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/165648728277 Cheap and cheerful but I don't think they would last long.
Another option is make a pair that would bolt to your roll over bars if you have roll bars fitted. I have Seen a few like this, so you keep your original seats.
The problem I have with this type is, I'm planning on making and fitting a Wind break that also bolts the roll bars in the same place almost, care of Paul Huttons design. Which brings me back to finding seats that fit and match my AK leather trim with head rests.
If your going to Absolute Horse power, Anthony just picked up a car from Intatrim, and that had head rest in the seats, But I think it was DAX.
Ashley Hewes in Nottingham did my seats and added another 110mm to the headrest stems to achieve a solid mounting when raised to the correct height. The stems are hidden with black cohline fuel hose which is the perfect diameter and stops the headrests from slipping down. Ash also uses steel frames for his seats which I preferred over the fibreglass alternatives. I found him extremely helpful.
