You're all killjoys!!!!!
Removed till next year but if you hated them you'll really hate the fireworks..........

Of course, if anyone wants them still on then please just say so....

Its still October!!

To early for fireworks.

The kids have started letting off fireworks here already, they get earlier and earlier every year. One went off last night and scared the dog so much that he knocked over the Christmas tree.

Beginning of October was when the toy shops or newsagents use to have the fireworks in stock,
bangers use to cost about two pence and we would find somewhere like a water drainage pipe
to let these things off, it made them appear to sound much louder.
"Penny for the guy "was also going on throughout the month, mum and dad would not have approved of this
due to the fact it was seen as begging, we thought it was just to be able to buy a few fireworks !
All good fun and fortunately never had to witness any nasty accidents, my mum sometimes use to
notice that my eye brows were missing and she would questioned me about letting off fireworks .
Dad use to threaten me with showing me pictures of kids that got serious burns due to fireworks,
he was in the fire service and would let me know about the legality of letting off fireworks in public
although he was doing exactly the same in his younger days !
Apparantly it has always been the.same even in the early days, I myself could legally buy fireworks before
the age of fourteen years but things started to change and you had to be 16 to be able to make a purchase.
The month of October was always a noisy month day and night and must have been a nightmare for the cats and
dogs.
I've always had cats and never really considered how stressed they could get, my current moggy retreats to
the back of the sofa but this is usually only over a few days this day and age, strangely she is not bothered when I fire up the cob that has the four inch side pipes .
With regards to fireworks, I am still addicted to them but don't go to the woods or other public places to let them off or do penny for the guy so I guess that I am beginning to start growing up a bit .
Chris.
