Evening All,
Who does everyone use for general maintenance, servicing, tuning etc in and around the midlands.
Need to find someone who I can use as and when.
No problems yet but I am sure I will need someone at some point.
Any recommendations?
Thanks
James
What type of V8? Modern fuel injection or older carb setup?
Older carb setup. Holley 4 barrel 670cfm. 6.3 stroker. Chevy.
Just bumping back up. Someone in the midlands must be recommended for old school v8s?
Jim,
The Holley is an easy carb to work on once you get to know it. I have two great books ( Holley Rebuilding & Modifying S-A Design by Jeff Williams and Holley 4150 &4160 HP Books) which break down the tuning and setting up but I would say I have see lots of videos on You Tube and there are a few who really know there stuff in how to set these up.
A vacuum gauge will be the only tool you really need and measuring your AFR or reading plugs is the other. If you have the carb jet sizes correctly in the ball park lots will give you sizes for your set up as a starting point.

I was going to recommend Northampton Motorsport originally - technically very much in (East) mids, but I thought that might be a bit far from Shropshire :)
Not in the Midlands, I use RPI Engineering in Norfolk I hire a trailer and drive from the Midlands just excellent service for anything V8.
Bought my RV8 short block 3.948 l from them over twenty five years ago,
no complaints with then, hopefully they can still deliver good products.
Chris.
