Title: Lower steering column bearing
Post by: Flykilla on Feb 15, 2023, 08:34 PM
Evening Chaps,

Wondering if any one can point me in the direction of a good lower steering column bearing for the Dax.
Its the bearing that goes through the footwell into the engine bay. Mine has got quite a bit of play in it.

Cheers

Brad

Originally, it was from a Triumph Dolomite. Horrible nylon thing that wears out, I have been through 3 of them.

I picked up one of these from Simply Bearings: https://simplybearings.co.uk/shop/p22809/SBPFL204-12-Oval-2-Bolt-Pressed-Steel-Bearing-Housing-with-3/4-inch-insert/product_info.html

OK, that's a slight lie because I also bought one of these and I can't remember which one I used! https://simplybearings.co.uk/shop/p22803/SBPFL202-Oval-2-Bolt-Pressed-Steel-Bearing-Housing-with-15mm-insert/product_info.html

But .. measure your shaft (ooer) and then whichever one of those fits, as long as you have footwell 'meat' around the shaft to bolt the bearing housing to.
