Title: DAX Carpet set
Post by: John Barnes on Jan 10, 2023, 02:19 PM
Happy New year to all, I'm looking forward to getting to some events this year hopefully Silverstone classic being one of them, However I have some fettling I want to do in the meantime, Can anyone advise on where or who to contact about carpet sets ? I am looking to replace mine as they are looking a bit tired now, I have been in contact with John Kox at DJ Cars or whatever its called now and not confident in getting the correct response. Can anyone recommend another place or even a company that can make them ?

Thanks in advance

Ashley (ex. Interiors Seating) has templates and is reasonably priced - I only have a number for him though, no website or anything like that: ‭+44 7917 573637‬

If you're handy with a Stanley knife, use your old carpets as a template, then get a local trimmer to adhere them. You can use top quality carpet and still make it better/cheaper. Simon

What Simon said.
Such a shame we lost the old forum- I had loads of gallery pics when I did this on my old Sumo, with the intention of making the carpets look Dax-like. Its not difficult to do, especially if you have old carpets as templates. I had a couple of templates, and then just went my ow way once I got confident chopping up Green Wilton auto carpet. Locla trimmer then piped everything with magnolia edging - got lots of nice comments.

I went down the diy cutting route and got it edged by a professional trimmer who warned me about the importance of making sure the pile runs the same way. Not something I'd thought about but certainly affects  estimating how much you'll need off a roll.
