Title: steering
Post by: jarmo on Dec 23, 2022, 12:19 PM
2021 cobra viper rover3500 engine. delighted with the car except steering
electric power fitted. Jaguar steering. Driving say into roundabout halfway
round feels like you have hit ice and then does not willingly return to start
position. This is the only fault which is not a good experience.
Based Scotland. Any input would be greatly appreciated

You say Jaguar steering ? The steering column is usually Corsa B/C electric or fluid belt driven BMW system.

If its a bi-spoke system using pump fluid I would check the belt is not slipping. You should be able to check this stationary with wheels on the ground force some resistance through system lock to lock.

I had a similar experience with a Citroen especially in colder weather and a belt swap sorted it. But very hairy when you experience stiff wheel or resistance mid a bend or roundabout !
